Happy Thanksgiving Peeps!

Ahhh…

It’s a balmy 70º F here in Winston Salem, NC and our big oak trees still haven’t shed even half of their leaves. Got the windows open and are getting some airflow through the house. If things keep up like this, we’ll be having another one of those winters where the temperatures are constantly fluctuating between extreme highs and lows. Oh well. Guess global warming is having its fun with us.

Turkey’s in the oven with fixing being prepared, and we’re having a nice little time here together just the three of us. Hope everyone else is too!

I’ve always liked the idea of being a smarter consumer, even though in practice I tend to fall short (way short, I’m as impulsive as a neuron when it comes to shopping). Over at The Consumerist they have “10 Shopping Tricks Shorts Hate”. Now’s as good a time as any to start sticking it to the capitalist dogs. Eh comrades? ^_^

“Stores are always trying to get you to do what they want. But what if you refuse? What if you do what benefits you and not the store? Aside from outright fraud, what are the things that you can do to come out ahead? We’ve put together 10 tips that will help you save money, but probably won’t help the store. That’s why they hate them. And you. “
